Wearing black in summer was once considered a bit of a fashion taboo. Summer should be about embracing the sun and that means light, fresh summery colours, right? Wrong.
According to The Guardian, black can be a great summer colour choice, you just have to team it with the right kind of outfit. A black jumper – no. Black jeans – no. A spaghetti strap vest – yes!
Many women feel more comfortable in black, but feel that when summer comes around they are expected to put it to the back of the wardrobe. What they may not realise is that colour can be introduced another way. A little black dress can be worn with bright, strappy heels, for example.
Black in summer is all about breezy, slinky fabric that is loose and light but not shapeless. A sundress with an exposed back would look divine, as would a structured dress that showed off a set of tanned pins.
Angelina Jolie can do it, so why not you?
