OUR GO-TO HOME FACE MASK RECIPES

Does anything quite say unwind like an at-home face mask? We've put together 5 of our go-to masks that will truly allow you to relax and refresh from the comfort of your own home, whilst also giving your skin the nutrients it needs!

This simple three ingredient trio will moisturise your skin for Australia’s upcoming winter, leaving your skin smooth and glowing. 

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Avocado
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • A handful of oats

Here is how it helps:

The mashed avocado will leave your skin silky smooth while banishing roughness! The oats have amazing healing and moisturising properties and the honey will help with the appearance of scars.

Mash the avocado and then combine the rest of the ingredients and leave on for 15 minutes! 

Another favourite of ours is the tropical face mask that feels like your in Spa Haven! It is an organic face mask that leaves your skin glowing and healthy.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 tablespoon of orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

How it helps:

The key ingredient of orange helps your skin fight ageing and rejuvenates the skin. The banana and honey are great skin moisturisers that are calming and sensitive to the skin.

Apply the mask to your face and keep on your skin for 15 minutes!

If you are looking for a quick pick-me-up that will leave you feeling and looking better this is the mask for you!

Ingredients: 

  • 1/2 cup hot water (not boiling)
  • 1/3 cup oatmeal
  • 2 tablespoons plain yoghurt 
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 small egg

How it helps:

Oatmeal is an antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory properties help to treat dry skin, reduce acne and remove dead skin cells. 

Combine the water and oatmeal and let settle for two or three minutes, mix in the rest of the ingredient, apply a thin layer of the mask to your face, and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Then rinse with warm water. 

Bananas can be used as an all-natural ingredient to moisturises your skin and leaves it looking and feeling softer.

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium banana
  • 2 tablespoons honey (a natural acne remedy)
  • 1/4 cup plain yoghurt

 

How it helps: 

The vitamin A in bananas restores moisture, smoothens out the rough texture of skin and heals dry skin.

Mash up a medium-sized ripe banana into a smooth paste, mix in the other ingredients then gently apply it to your face and neck. Let it set for 10 to 20 minutes, then rinse it off with cold water.

This one is super easy, all you will need to do is simply head to the fridge and grab an egg.

Ingredients:

  • Egg yolk, for dry skin
  • Egg white, for oily skin
  • The whole egg, for normal skin

 

How it helps:

Eggs are used to improving skin texture, yolks are rich in fatty acids which can lend moisture to the skin while the whites contain Albumin, which helps tighten pores and remove excess oil.

Apply the beaten egg, relax and wait 30 minutes, then rinse.
