Inspiring 2018 Resolutions

Welcome to 2018!
The start of a new year is the perfect time to reflect and start working on new goals, however sometimes it's hard to create meaningful resolutions that you can really stick to. We're here to inspire you with a few resolutions that go beyond "get back to the gym" and "meal prep lunches every week". 


1. Make Time For Family

This one sounds simple, but we're all guilty of occasionally blowing off the fam to hang out with friends or avoiding Mum's calls. This year, let's make time for the people who love you endlessly, no matter how many times you ignore their calls! Find time to remind your loved ones how much you appreciate them - maybe aim to cook a meal for your parents once a month, and focus on making special memories.

2. Digital Detox

If you're scrolling through Facebook before you go to sleep each night, then reaching for Instagram as soon as the alarm sounds every morning... I'm afraid it's time for a little social media break! Taking a digital detox is one of the most beneficial things you can do for your mental health and overall wellbeing, even if it's just for 1 day! 
Aim to go 1 week with no Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat. Only use your phone if you really need it, and see how clear your mind feels afterwards! You'll be shocked at how inspired you feel, and how much more you connect with the people around you.

3. Compliment Someone Every Day

The world is always in need of more love. Giving someone a compliment will not only make their day, but you'll also inspire others to spread their joy and share the love. Whether it's your sister or a complete stranger, find something you love about someone every single day and let them know. You'll build up more confidence and spread some happiness, it's a win-win! 

4. Compliment Yourself Every Day

That's right - it all comes back to self-love! Everyone has days where we feel down on ourselves and the thought of giving yourself a compliment sounds completely absurd - but it's so important to love yourself first, always! It might be something as simple as "my makeup looks great today" or "I just made the tastiest lasagne ever". You're doing amazing, keep reminding yourself of that this year!

5. Rise Above The Small Things

In 2018, let's not sweat the small stuff. A lot easier said than done! Life can get crazy at times, and it really doesn't take much to push us over the edge. Take time out, breathe, relax. Think about the bigger picture, and move on. If you're finding yourself getting caught up in the clutter, never feel bad about making the time to chill out and re-focus your attention on the things that really matter. 
Those are a few ways to hit refresh in 2018, and aim to better not only yourself but the people around you. Remember, at the end of the day it comes down to how YOU want to take on the year, so take some time to think about exactly what you want out of 2018. Let's do this!
