Woman of the Month - Justine Flynn
Justine Flynn is a mum, businesswoman, and co-founder of the world-changing organisation, Thankyou. She, and her co-founders, saw a problem in the world, and took action to fix it. Feeling inspired already?
Thankyou is an organisation whose mission is to provide safe drinking water for every person worldwide. They do this through the retailing of bottled water, food, and body care products, which you’ve probably seen at your local supermarket (their products are stocked in over 5500 outlets in Australia)!
Thankyou began in 2008, during the World Water Crisis where over 900 million people did not have access to safe drinking water. Justine and her co-founders discovered that in Australia, the bottled water industry was worth over $600 million per year. To Jarryd Burns, Daniel Flynn, and Justine, these statistics were enough to want to do something about it, and so, Thankyou was born.
Starting the business at the ripe ages of 19 and 20, Justine and her co-founders have now raised over $5.5 million for water, sanitation, food, and maternal health projects in over 20 countries.
Justine works as the Brand Director, as she has a resounding passion for people and business. She has a Bachelor of Business Management and is constantly working to push herself and others forward in their mission to save the world. Oh… and did we mention she has a toddler?
As a mum to 2 year old, Jed, life is pretty chaotic for this superwoman. However, she says that the key to maintaining sanity is taking time to yourself to reset, and prioritising family. Justine is an advocate of pushing through life’s challenges to build character and strength, yet always knowing when to take some me-time.
